Ticket to Ride holds a special place in our hearts! Its simple structure and game mechanics were easy to learn which made it fun for all levels of players in our extended family. This was often a go-to for us when we were visiting friends and family. Plus, the cards are smaller to fit nicely in your kids' hands. Curiously, there are even tournaments for this game. I haven't played with Alexa yet, but I am intrigued by how it works and I have played the app version.

Be careful not to bite off more than you can chew. In Ticket to Ride you choose tickets that display two different locations that you will be responsible for building a simple (or convoluted) train route. For each ticket you complete or leave incomplete at the end, you receive or lose points. You also get points for each train link you complete throughout the game. As a bonus, the longest train of a single line gets an additional 10 points! Your strategy quickly becomes important as there are a finite number of routes available to reach each major city, so plan accordingly and prioritize your routes.

There are several versions of this game for different periods and locations and even younger child versions available. This is a fantastic addition to your library!
